“I’m a flawed character,” he said.

Did it feel wrong?

“No,” Armstrong replied. “Scary.”

“Did you feel bad about it?” Winfrey pressed him.

“No,” he said. “Even scarier.”

“Did you feel in any way that you were cheating?”

“No,” Armstrong paused. “Scariest.”

Add this loser to the growing list of sports heroes that have lied, cheated and given children, and even adults, less and less reason to look at anyone in sports as legitimate role models.

I have no lengthy opinion on this person. I lost my respect for these people a long time ago. Baseball, football, Olympics, doesn’t matter. Doping is going on somewhere right now. The only thing that bothers me is when the government gets involved with it’s investigations of sports doping. Let the sports industry police it’s own. Lance Armstrong is a perfect example of how it’s done. Now I just wonder about the five or so cyclists that were close behind him when he crossed the finish line. Maybe that’s why none of the second place finishers in the last seven Tour de France races have been awarded the first place title in place of Armstrong. -JRoycroft
